"To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors."

~Tia Walker

Because of the generosity of our exceptional community, the Jewish Women’s Benevolent Society was able to provide new items of winter and summer clothing to all our beneficiaries, in both 2020 and 2021. This provided an alternative way of clothing the community when COVID-19 meant having to close our clothing depot in March 2020. Our clients could no longer visit to obtain their gently worn clothing.

It is 2022 and our depot is open BUT limitations remain regarding our clients being able to come in and obtain what they need. Thus, JWBS volunteers will pack and distribute clothing packs again this year. Residents of the Selwyn Segal will be the first to receive winter packs, consisting of brand-new t-shirts, tracksuits, underwear, socks, and sleepwear. Each pack costs R 1000.

BECAUSE YOU CARE, we urge you to contribute towards our winter clothing packs, helping us convey a message of warmth and care to each of our recipients.

Being a volunteer-run, not for profit organization the JWBS relies solely on the generosity of the community to cover operating costs and provide funding for various initiatives.
